My mom is having no problem to staying with the girls with the condition that we get them in bed before leaving them... As they dont wake up at night, it is like they are not there...

We went out with my friend Luz to walk around in the Colonial Zone area, and then they had a couple of drinks (yes, just them because I dont drink) in a place called Pat'e Palo (described on its website as "the first European Brasserie in the Dominican Republic, that invites you to enjoy the colonial ambiance that only can provide the original premises of which, in 1505, was the first tavern of the new world". It is located in front of the Columbus home (remember that I posted about that house?).

Cant remember at what time we dropped Luz off, but we did picked up the girls at around 8am on my mom's house!! It was awesome!

We hardly took photos, and here are a couple:

Two great Salsa Performers are in town and we decided to go to the concert... They are Gilberto Santa Rosa and Victor Manuelle, who once did a tour together called: Dos soneros, Una historia (Two salsa singers, One history), are bringing now: La historia continua (The History Continues).

I havent had so much fun in a VERY long time... We went with 4 four friends including my comadre Luz.. Luz and I actually danced salsa for 3 hours NON-STOP during the whole concert... We sang ALL the songs, and by the time it was over we could hardly speak.

Here we are in our way to the concert... We all packed ourselves in one car...

Gaby got punished (I will talk about it in a future post), and we took away the trip to have an encounter with dolphins that was scheduled for today, so we needed to find something else to do… My friend still needed to run some errands, so hubby and I took 5 kids with us to a close by town called Sosua.

We had an early lunch, and then left. We spot a very nice place on the beach surrounded by high cliff walls.... We were in the beach area of one resort, and we were mostly the only that were not staying in the resort.... This is one side of the beach:

And this is the other side:

As you can tell it was a very small area, and hubby thought it was the best beach he has been so far in this country. The waves were a bit dangerous for young kids, but the beach was sooo clean, and the sand was also sooo clean and soft, that all you want to do is to lay down in there forever... Here is Mia enjoying the sand:

Gaby loved to watch the waves:

The sitter from the resort that was right there, was around with 2 little girls she was taking care of... The lady asked Gaby to join them:

After a very fun day, we headed back to the villa. We had dinner, get the girls ready for bed, and then drop them off at my friend's villa because hubby and I were getting a night out!! Our second of the year (and also second in the last 5.5 years).

We have been in this country for so many years already, and hubby havent been to a movie theater since we got here... When we were living in New Jersey, we used to go to the movies SEVERAL times a week!! Sometimes we will go everyday!!

The movie theater was in the mall from Sunday, and it had three movies... Im very much into girly movies, but there werent many options, so we decided to watch "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" (by we decided I mean hubby pushed and I agreed.. LOL)... At home Im the one that normally gets to choose what we watch, so it was his turn...

It was fun as we were the ONLY ones watching that movie, as all the other people decided for a local movie that were playing. After we got out from there, the mall was mostly closed, and we decided to head out to the Casino. We spent less than an hour in the Casino, and we had two incidents!! Just when we were out of the money that we bring in, hubby made $30 dollars... It was suppose to be 30 coins of one dollar, but the machine didnt throw the coins... So, we had to call the people from there, and 15 minutes later, and 4 guys later, we got our $30 bucks... Hubby and I decided to go and cash the 30 coins, when we realized he left the cell phone somewhere... We called security and they started rolling back the camera from the machine we used, when I realized it was in a black spot of the machine, and it was impossible to see it, cause the cell is black...

So, we left $10 bucks richier (as we put $20 bucks to get in), and decided to stop by another Casino at spend those $10 bucks... We got out from there with $10 extra more, and then we left... It may seem like little money, but we cant afford to put money into gambling and we just did it for fun... At least, we left with the same $20 bucks we put in PLUS $20 bucks more!!!

When we got to the villas the girls were asleep, and we transfer them one by one to their bed in our villa... It was a great day and an awesome night!!!

I have been dying to post about this here or on Facebook, but there was no way to do it without hubby reading about it... Now, it is OVER, so I can share it with you all.... I was thinking about doing something for hubby for his birthday but wasnt sure how I was going to pull it off. On Monday, I got a call from one of hubby's co-workers to ask me about it. I explained her that the only thing planned so far was a weekend at a resort, which was also a surprise for him (will blog about it in the next post), but that I wasnt sure what else to do...

She told me that several people from the school were talking about doing a surprise party for hubby. She wanted to do it on Saturday, but as we were going away, I told her that it was Ok with me to do it for Friday night. They pull out a list of things to buy, and all the people that wanted to go got something to bring... Everybody was planning happily and hubby didnt know ANYTHING...

One day he came home telling me that he saw a couple of his coworkers talking misteriously and he got the impression that they were putting something together for him... There is a lady that has a beach house, and everybody was making him think that we were all going to that beach house on Sunday... That way he stopped thinking about anything else, and thought that they were planning to do something special for him over there (something like getting a cake or something like it)...

I called my mom and by my surprise she agreed on staying with ALL the girls overnight, so we can go to the party, and actually dont worry about the ending time to pick up the girls... It was our FIRST night out since Gaby was born in October 2003!!!!!!! What I did was tell hubby that I was going to take him out to dinner and that his coworker was going to take care of one of the girls as my mom couldnt take care of all of them at the same time.

So, at the very last minute, I told him that my mom "just" agreed on staying with the three girls, so we needed to call his coworker to let her know... Minutes before that, I called her to ask her not to pick up her cell phone when I call her... We dropped the girls at my mom's house, and here is how happy he was about our "dinner":

So, she didnt pick up and hubby was worried that she was going to be waiting for us... I told him that we should just stop by her house to let her know in person... It took a bit of convincing, especially when we got there, as he wanted me to go upstairs by myself, but I got him to go and OH BOY! He was so SURPRISED that he got watery eyes!!! Around 20 people screamed SURPRISE when he got in, and he was just speechless... The only thing he could say was a very dominican Spanish slang that means something like: "you guys have really crossed the line" (For my Spanish speaking readers, he said: Ustedes estan pasados!!!).

Here is hubby's face when he saw his gifts from me and the girls, and the other from my friend Cara:

Here is what he was reading... A card that I designed with the details of the gift to the Coral Costa Caribe Resort.. He couldnt believe his eyes:

There is no a group picture as some of them didnt wanted to be published on my blog, but here is the group that stood there until almost 4am (same guys from the beach day last Saturday)!! The only one missing there is the owner of the house:

Hubby and the dog of the house:

It was really a GREAT party and hubby was REALLY happy!!! We got home and ended up going to sleep at around 5am!!! Our first night without the girls and hubby's 30th birthday celebration were a total success!

We buy most of the things online, so I have wishlists to have in one place everything that we are planning (or at least hoping) to buy.
