A lot have been going on since the last update. My mother in law got to be sent from New Jersey to Ecuador to be buried in her native country and hubby got to fly over there to say the last good bye to his mom. She was buried on Saturday the 10th.

In a good note, even though it was for a VERY sad reason, hubby had 18 YEARS without visiting his native country and it has been something huge for him to be able to see all that family that he haven't seen in sooo long, and to meet those that were not even born the last time he was there. He is still there, and he will be coming back next week.

Gaby also lost another tooth (notice on the first picture), and survived *another* ear infection (sigh!). Mimi has an eating strike, and it is hardly eating. My poor petite baby is getting skinnier. Camila is doing great but misses daddy very much. The nanny, Yudy, is happy at home, and we love having her around! Me? Working like a donkey!

Last week I bring home a Nikon D50 with a 50mm 1.8 lens and here are some pictures I took (well, some of them were taken by my friend Perla who was home with us that day):

FINALLY!!! This was loooong overdue!! I got my butt to the doctor, purchased a cute frame and got my eyeglasses!!!

In case you didnt know, the latina singer and actress Thalia actually has an eyewear collection and it is very cute... I got the "Curiosa" model in Aqua Tortoise and Im IN LOVE with them!!

I have to confess that I should be wearing them more, but it is just difficult to get used to be using eyeglasses.. I feel that I can see better without them, even though I dont... This is not the best picture, but here I am:

Cant even remember when was the last time that I did something for my look. I believe the last time I got highlights was after Gaby was born in 2003!!!!

When I started loosing weight a few months ago I decided it was time to let my hair grow and anybody who has done that can relate on how difficult it is. I have been wanting to get highlights since several months ago, however I wanted to wait until my hair was long enough to blow dry it, instead of keeping it wet with gel or leave in.

So, the time had come and my hair was long enough to be blow dried which means highlights were in order! The "before" picture was taken a week or so before the highlights (please, ignore my poor smiling skills for the camera..ugh), and the "after picture" was taken a month after it (on my birthday party) because it was the only picture I could find that actually shows my hair. The hair was also longer and for some reason it looks a bit reddish, however the base is brownish and the highlights are blondish.

Working outside of the house turned out to be better than I thought. I didnt know how I was going to manage to be away from the girls for so many hours and how I was still going to be able to keep on with 3 Little Flowers, but it worked out just fine.

Being able to interact with other adults and actually talk about something different than poopy diapers and potty training, it was really nice. I also got to play with different cameras which made it very fun.

I also got to meet new people and hang out with them, which was a bit weird, as mostly all of my actual friends have kids and husbands (or wives), and the majority of these new people are not even close to get married, much less to have kids.

Anyway, we'll see what this new adventure brings!

Our local mother's day is the last Sunday of May (which is next Sunday) and today was the Mother's Day presentation at school. The first act was Camila's grade as they are the youngest of the school.

Camila knew the songs by heart, but as soon as she saw me the crying started and she ended up in my arms instead of the stage... After the show was over, she gave me some gifts that she did for me:

After the Toddler and Pre-K class was Gaby's presentation with all the other K kids.. She was also intimidated with my presence and even though she sand all the songs beautifully, she refused to say the sentence that she was suppose to say by herself.

At the end, she also gave me the gifts she made for me.. She was very sad that she didnt said her line:

I had to miss my last day of work because Gaby was sick, so I promised I was going to make up that day as it was the day that I was going to clear out my desk, all backups, keys, USB Memory and all that stuff.

So, today I got to go back to the school and spent my last day of work. I was happy and relief to have handed in everything because the feeling that I had because they were "waiting" for me, wasnt nice.

It was nice to be there, and see the kids and coworkers, but Im glad to be able to go back home knowing that I didnt had to come back at the next day... I really DONT miss the morning rush in this house, to get ready FIVE people. Those two extra hours of sleep in the morning PAYS off... I still wake up early (at 7+ am), but I dont have to wake up at 5am anymore.

Im not very good with changes, and I prefer things just to remain just the way they are. I have been home taking care of my girls since I was pregnant with Camila. As my regular readers know, a few months ago I decided to start working outside the house in a school. I have been doing good with my business, but I was needing some adult interaction, plus I loved the oportunity to give my girls the change to interact with kids their own age.

Even though we think it was a good decision at that moment, we decided it was time to rethink and make some changes. I honestly hate when my girls are sick and I have to call in sick. They miss school and I miss my job. I simply hate having to ask for permissions and permissions, but of course, my girls are more important than anything else so I HAVE to.

Everybody from this country keep telling me: Get a maid for your house, so when your girls are sick, they can stay with the maid. That is VERY normal in this country, and people think we are nuts because we decided NOT to have a maid. We decided my girls doesnt need a maid, but they do need their mom. And they need a mom that is happy staying home with them, and not a mom that feels guilty because she has to call in to miss work again. I honestly HATE the feeling of feeling that Im doing something wrong, when Im actually doing something to take care of my daughters...

I know Im just rambling, but I bet you guys already got my point. So, the decision is made. Im going to go back home full time. Gaby and Mia will continue attending their school normally, and I will pick them up at noon. Mimi will stay home with me, and I will try to take her from time to time to some kind of program where she will be able to spend a few hours and interact with other kids.

I will continue to do stuff for the school like the yearbook and some other design projects, but everything will be done from my home and at my own schedule like Im used to. When my girls are sick, they will stay home with me as long as they need to be ready again to go back to school. I know I will miss talking to adults in "real life", but this is worth it.

We buy most of the things online, so I have wishlists to have in one place everything that we are planning (or at least hoping) to buy.
