My girls just can't get enough of Frozen. All moms of little girls know exactly what I'm talking about.I gotta say that the movie is awesome, but if I hear "Let it go" one more time, I think I will end up in a Mental Health Facility. But, my girls would watch it every day if I let them.
One of their favorite things to do around the house is to imitate Elsa and Anna... Either a part of the movie, their hairstyle... anything.
In honor to that, here are some pictures to save for the memory lane. On the right, here is Gaby with Elsa's bun. Then, Mimi is performing the part where Anna is signing in front of Elsa's door (two piggy tails and the hands and song)... and Mia did the two braids on her hair... If you look closely, it was all by herself who did the "braids"... Too cute.
I am very good at a lot of things, but I don't mind acknowledging my limitations. Blow drying hair is one of them. I have never been good about it... not with my hair or anybody else's hair. I still have a blow dryer, because even though I don't do a good job, I don't want my girls to get sick after I wash their hair.
I needed to wash the girls hair and my blow dryer decided not to work anymore. A couple of months ago, I purchased a Hair Straightener and even though I never intended to use it with my girls, I couldn't just keep their hair wet.
I knew this was going to take hours and I make a challenge to myself to do a good job. Gaby is the one more sensitive to get sick, so I started with her. I didn't take a before picture, but here is how she looked after her hair was dry. She is actually a shirt that belongs to me that I was just wearing a week ago!! She's just a total lady already.

The second one was Mimi. I was so proud of the job I did with Gaby that I decided to take a before and after picture with her and Mia. From all three, Mimi's hair is the easiest to dry, but I'm still proud of my job...

Now, this is my masterpiece! Even though Gaby has a lot of hair, Mia has enough hair to cover 3 heads!! Took me like 45 minutes, but she was VERY happy!!

Cant even remember when was the last time that I did something for my look. I believe the last time I got highlights was after Gaby was born in 2003!!!! When I started loosing weight a few months ago I decided it was time to let my hair grow and anybody who has done that can relate on how difficult it is. I have been wanting to get highlights since several months ago, however I wanted to wait until my hair was long enough to blow dry it, instead of keeping it wet with gel or leave in.
So, the time had come and my hair was long enough to be blow dried which means highlights were in order! The "before" picture was taken a week or so before the highlights (please, ignore my poor smiling skills for the camera..ugh), and the "after picture" was taken a month after it (on my birthday party) because it was the only picture I could find that actually shows my hair. The hair was also longer and for some reason it looks a bit reddish, however the base is brownish and the highlights are blondish.
Gaby has been BEGGING to have long hair since almost 3 years ago... Now, that her hair is stronger Im letting it grow... The main reason why she wants to have long hair is because she was a pony tail in the back.... As her forehead is kinda big, I was worried about how it will look her hair all the way to her back, so we decided to make her BANGS!
I have to confess... Im not a big fan of bangs, and even though I have Mia and Mimi with bangs, I dont like how Gaby used to look in bangs when she was little, but I wanted to give it a try... After all, if we dont like it, it will grow anyway.

This is how she looks with her bangs... She is also now wearing her birthday outfit and bow...

We also cleaned Mia's bangs and they were on her eyes already:

Mimi also got a clean up, but no photos to show it... Im sure there will be tons of pics tomorrow to show her new do.

I managed to get a picture of Gaby before I return the camera today... I just wanted to show you guys how she looks... Everybody at school was very nice with her haircut when we dropped her off and she was very happy!!!

The eye doctor asked me to get her a picture of Gaby where you can see the crossed right eye, and in this picture you can really tell...
Until a few days ago Mia was having hair in her eyes, so I decided to cut her bangs... I have never done it before, and I did a very good job... BUT, she needed a hair stylist touch.
Also, Gaby has been asking for a few months now to get a haircut like Mia, and I always said no, specially since I know how much she will love to have the hair longer (as she asks for braids a lot, but I struggle to get them done with her hair so short). Anyway, since we started talking about eye patches and eyeglasses, I started thinking that it may be a good idea to cut her hair in a way that doesnt go to her face.... There is a lot of times when she is doing her homework that I see her hair in the middle and she struggles, and even though I know there are a lot of other ways to solve this situation (like forcing her to have her clippies or bows on all the time), I talked to hubby to see if he agree with it. At first he said no, but then I explained him what I was thinking about the eyeglasses and he also thought it was a good idea...

Here is the best shot I could get of Mia (she was reading a Barney book that was way more interesting than looking at mommy for a picture):

We are still very unsure about Gaby's hair. She really looked better with her longer hair, but we both know we dit it for the best. She looks way younger now, and just like other child, and now looks more like Mia too..
..........Mimi!!!!
She was suppossedly hairless, but she was not that bald anymore. The thing was that she wasnt losing her baby hair, so she was full of "frizzy" hair and I knew it was just easier to take care of that now...
I remember that Gaby had the same problem, but I refused to cut her hair really short, and now I regret it... Her hair is still not strong. So, I went ahead and she ended up BALD!!! Hubby says that she looks like she is getting ready for the Navy or Marines, but I KNOW that the hair will grow really soon, and it will be stronger and healthier!!!
Her "frizzy" hair (you really cant tell much by the pictures, but I swear it was really ugly in person).

While they were cutting her hair.... She behave REALLY good!

After she was done with her prize from the lady

Showing off her bald head:

Exhausted....

After a picture like this, there is nothing else that you cant do that keep you away from cutting somebody's hair... Mia has been fighting against her hair for the last couple of weeks trying to actually SEE the world around her!! So, it was mandatory to cut her bangs (which means of course, to cut a bit of everything).
Mia ready to start:

Getting it cut:

I totally forgot to take an after picture of Camila, so I will post that when I get one....
Gaby ready to start:

After it was done and ready to be blow dried:

Done!

Mia has a big "earrings" problem. She cant keep them on for more than 2 or 3 days. The last earrings that she lost, we decided we were going to leave her without any earrings for a bit. Today my mom came home with new earrings for her, and we decided to give it a try. After 30 minutes of screaming, hubby managed to get them on, and she couldnt kept her hands out of them.
It was night, so we tried to keep her hands out of her ears, hoping that she is going to forget about them tomorrow...

Mia has been trying to see since a few days ago! He hair was so long that was on top of her eyes. She has been trying to see tilting her head to her back, and even though it was so funny, we knew we had to do something about it.

So, we did it!!! This is her second time in a Beauty Salon that is inside the latin american Toys R Us, called Jugueton. Mia was sleeping when we got there, so she was kinda droggy. Also, the hairdresser was really nice with her, and she even took the time to play with her for a bit after it. Here is the new Mia:
