Not ready for American Idol

As mostly every little girl I know, my girls are crazy about Frozen.  They love all the songs, and they know them all in both versions... English and Spanish.

One of the gifts they got from Santa was a microphone and they asked me to record them singing "Libre Soy" which is the Spanish version of "Let it Go"...

I'm sure they are not ready for American Idol, but they are still adorable. Gotta love Mimi's style too!

A Merry Christmas indeed

I guess the girls haven't been so naughty because Santa got to spoil them today! Even grandma got to be spoiled because that big bear you see on the pictures was for her.


Gotta love how they cooperate for pictures on Christmas morning.  They know they can't open the presents until we get good pictures and I seriously never have to take more than a couple of shots.  They tell each other "quick.. smile big for the pictures.. hurry".  It's the magic of Christmas morning, because that means that they want me to be happy as they know that makes me happy.


This year Santa decided to bring lots of the same things instead of things completely different for each one.  It was a hit because each one had their own of the same thing and that brought the "fighting over a toy" to zero.  Santa even left a Sharpie handy for me to be able to name some things. My favorite thing for the girls were the big Disney Princesses dolls, and I hope Santa can bring more of those next Christmas.


We even got to say hello to one of Santa's messengers at a fair downtown.

The 3 Wise Kings 2010

It is actually celebrated on the 6th, however in this country non major holidays are normally celebrated on the Monday before or Monday after (to protect the economy of mid and small companies from closing down in the middle of the week). So, this year we got to celebrate the 3 Wise Kings on the 4th!

Some of the things that Gaby got was a V-Pocket and a newborn My Little Pony. Camila got ANOTHER doll!

Camila was into combing their dolls, and fixing everybody's hair (including mine) so we got her this set that even has a blow dryer with real sounds....

And YES, more dolls for Mimi...

The girls are in love with Mickey and Friends, and each one got a few figurines of them....

They were REALLY happy and I was just thrilled!!

Santa came to town!

This year I was too busy helping the girls to open their presents, that I couldnt get as many pictures as I normally get. The also got other stuff but here are the stuff they got from me and Auntie Cara.

They choose what they wanted to leave for Santa, so he got: Strawberry milk, a banana, baby carrots and cookies (those cookies were they ons that kept me awake while I was wrapping them ALL NIGHT long! LOL)... I have to practice my Santa's handwriting for next year, and I think I will also purchase a notebook for years to come. This year Santa used "the napkin":

First off, when they walked out their bedroom, they found some clothes from Santa. I purchased a white shirt, made a Christmas tree and their name with glue, and threw some glitter on it. They loved them!

Celebrating Gaby's Moving Up

Each one of us had a gift for Gaby because of her Moving Up from Kinder, but the time was just not right to do it yesterday, so we did it today!

Happy 3rd Birthday Camila Nicole!! ** UPDATED **

My monkey had an awesome day... She is still sick, and still only having electrolytes, but she is fine, and was very happy as the got TONS of calls... As today was a working day in the school, even though the kids were not there, several of the teachers from the school call her. also, two of my cousins called her, my mom, my dad and his wife, her godfather, and even hubby called her because she was still sleeping when he left.

I think I mentioned before about the doll that Gaby got for the Three Wise Kings and the controversy it has caused in this house. All 3 of them were fighting over that doll 24/7, even though they are TONS of other dolls in this house... 3 months later the fight has continued, except that Gaby already stepped out the fight, and said that she will give the doll away to any of them (she literally got sick of fighting over the doll)... So, my mom wanted to buy a gift for Camila and I suggested her to buy her an identical doll, so Mimi could take over the other one...

So, we went to my mom's house so she could give the doll to her. We also got dinner at my mom's house, and poor Mia puke it all... We decided to get her jello with 3 candles to sign Happy Birthday to her, as I didnt want her to eat cake. She was not in the mood for photos, but she was thrilled with the doll and ate all of her jello (I didnt throw up)... We made the mistake of forgetting the other doll at home, and Mimi fight for the doll until she fall asleep!! I wonder what's up with that doll!!!

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTDAY MY SWEET LITTLE MONKEY!!! Mommy, Daddy and your sisters love you very much!!! It looks like it was yesterday when we bring you home weighting 4 pounds (you can read the story here), and now you are THREE YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have three daughters, and it is not a secret how much they love dolls. I seriously lost count of how many we have in this house. Playing “mommy” is something that they all have been doing way before they could talk, and my middle girl was burping and feeding her dolls even before she could walk.

Teaching my daughters about things that I strongly believe is very important to me. I want them to grow and be able to make their own decisions, but I want them to BELIEVE in those decisions, and do not make those decisions just to go with the flow, or because they look “normal” for the majority. 

Im not a big cooker. I just don’t feel a big ‘passion’ for cooking. However, no Baby Food company can expect to survive at my expense. My girls ate homemade baby food since they started having solid foods. It is important to me that my girls learn how I feel about homemade baby food VS commercial baby food. We got them a kitchen for Christmas, and they “cook” to their babies, and we try to teach them how important it is to know where the food you are feeding your baby is coming from. I know they hardly understand this YET, but I strongly feel that never is too early to start teaching your kids those things that matter that much to you.

When my girls first got babies that wet, I was desperate to find cloth diapers for the dolls. I wasn’t even a cloth diapering mom by then, but I knew that the disposable doll diapers were not going to be part of my waste. I look back and I wonder why I never find out about cloth diapers before, and how late I find out about them. I honestly had never seen a baby in cloth diapers EVER. To this day, the only cloth diapered babies that I have ever seen in person are my daughters. My mom told me that I was cloth diapered sometimes during the day, but –of course- I wont remember that. I was so disconnected from cloth diapers that I didn’t even know about dunking, or plastic covers, or anything. I just knew there were people (who I didn’t know) that used a piece of fabric as a diaper, and I always wondered how that fabric held the pee…

Now, I feel VERY strong about cloth diapers, and I wish all my friends were cloth diapering. I LOVE to proudly show everyone the diapers, and I LOVE how my daughters can tell about cloth and disposables, and how they clearly prefer cloth. Just yesterday I received my very first order of cloth menstrual pads, and the reactions of my girls were hilarious (I promise details in a future post all about it). I love the fact that my girls are not growing up thinking that cloth diapers is the only way to go, they are growing knowing that there are options, but that they still think that cloth diapers is the best way to go.

My girls are all about breastfeeding, homemade baby food, cloth diapering and wearing their babies. I stopped breastfeeding my youngest several months ago, and my oldest still sees breastfeeding as the ‘normal’ way to feed a baby. I really hope they grow up and stand up for what they believe, and I hope they feel with their kids how they feel with their dollies.

We have the same play kitchen too (slightly different color scheme though)!!! You know - I haven't even bothered buying baby food after Aaliyah... my second DD began eating what we ate every day (except it was mashed really well). In most countries and cultures around the world, babies don't eat separate/special foods... so I thought, why should we do any different? Great post Anelys! The Three Kings also stopped by!!!

This year the Three Wise Kings was celebrated on the 5th instead of the 6th. I really didnt planned anything special and the only thing that was meant to be bought was Gaby's new doll. As Im feeling awful from a very bad cold, I didnt even wrapped the presents. That was fine by me, as the presents were a bunch of stuff that we gathered and was actually for all of them.

Anyway, as we were going to go out with my dad in the morning, I decided to lock the playroom the night before and pray that Gaby or Mia didnt remember the kings... Yesterday the girls woke up and I started talking about Happy Land right away, so they actually forgot about the Kings and presents....

During our ride to meet my dad, I asked them if they remember to check for if the Wise Kings put any presents for them, and Gaby was amazed that she forgot... She said that she was going to check when they get back to the house. When we got to the house, they (mostly Gaby) started looking to see if they stopped by... They were excited when they enter the playroom!!!!

They got their aprons and chef hats from Sew Posh Boutique (one of my customers), which were suppose to be for Santa, but that didnt make it on time... I will try to get a better picture later on, but they look sooo cute!!!

Gaby's new doll was a hit and the three of them love her very much!!! I swear that for next year, I will get the same thing for each one of them. This baby is bald, 17 inches and really cute... I didnt get a picture of Gaby with it, and she actually went to sleep with her, but here is the stock picture....... Cant she be any cuter????

Preschool starts tomorrow again, and it feels so stressful to start getting ready for it after being in vacations for so long... I know 3 little girls that wont want to get up from bed tomorrow.... Gaby's eyeglasses are not ready (If you didnt read about it, Mimi send them to the "eyeglasses hospital"), but hopefully they will be ready tomorrow.... The lady is also offering a new type of eyeglasses holder, and I hope they fit her better... We'll see...

Ariel was a good boy too!

We gave Ariel the gift that Santa left in our house for him... He was a bit shy when he saw the box....


But as soon as he saw what it was (my brother and the girls had to open it for him), he run to play with it and was laughing and having so much fun...

Happy New Year 2009!!!!!!

Last night was a great night!!!! We got together as my mom's house with lots of extended family. We got there early and spent some time with my brother, sister in law and nephew...

Even my grandpa came out from this room to spend some time at the party.... He needs a walker to walk and he got to a living room just fine... We were all very happy to have him with us... It was funny how all the pictures happened around him. Here is my grandpa with Mia's godmother (Michel) who is back from Spain:

He is the one that diagnosed my tachycardia and high blood pressure (he is the dad of Mimi's co-godmother Vanessa).... Then is my mom's only sister (she is the mother of my two cousins that I hang out with sometimes... She is Maria Paula and Isabella's grandmother)... Then is my mom.... Then is my uncle, who is the one that sometimes comes to visit and the same one that bought us the nebulizer... Then is my godfather, and the one that is a diacone that has baptized my three daughters (he is the dad of Mia's godmother Michel).
