Mimi has been trying to stand up on the Pack and Play, so hubby and I decided not to put it on the high part of it anymore (the part that is like a bassinet). As the bar of the PnP was right there, she was already standing up.
Today, while in the crib, she managed to stand up all the way to the crib bars..... Mia and Gaby were all excited, of course I was too. Now I imagine her walking any time soon. Im really not looking forward having another early walker, because of what it does to baby's legs, but who knows?, though.
I guess I said so many times that it was never going to happen to me that it happened!!! We were shopping and we had Mia in one chart, Mimi on another, and Gaby was walking right next to us. All I remember was that Gaby was asking for a toy, and then Mimi started crying bc her teether felt and Mia started crying bc she wanted milk, so hubby and I got distracted for a few seconds and when we noticed GABY WAS NOT THERE! We started calling her and calling her and we couldnt find her.... Hubby found her right around some lady who was about to take her to customer service!!! Gaby ran to hubby with a scared face.... Then I found them, and she had an expression that I had never seen before on her. Poor thing was so scared and I almost cried. Thank God nothing happened.

Funniest thing of day: Mia was really sleppy but she wanted to eat (like always) so she started eating and she actually felt asleep sitting down with the spoon inside of her mouth! My only regret is that we didnt make a video!!
I will be checking this out in three months!! Let's see how much I can get done by then!!
FINANCES RELATED 1. To stick to my budget 2. To open an account for each girl and to put the same amount of money monthly in each account. It won’t be much because we are pretty tight, but at least 5 bucks on each account so by the end of the year, we can use that money to buy one Christmas presents for each. This is more to start teaching them to save. 3. To start buying cloth from Ebay, and do not buy stuff until Im sure that I got the best deal for it. 4. To make food-shopping lists and to stick to them 5. Cut down eating out to ONE time a month.
SAFETY AND HEALTH RELATED 1. To get Mimi’s ears pierced and PRONTO 2. To have Gaby back into a harness seat 3. To get Mimi to eat three meals a day 4. To get Mia to eat for healthy and to keep researching about her intestinal problems 5. To lose at least 5 pounds each month. To go back to South Beach diet, and to do the Elliptical every day. Also to keep a blog about my progress.
PARENTING RELATED 1. To become a cloth diapering mama, and stop using disposable diapers and wipes 2. To take the girls to play outside of the house at least one time a week 3. To make play-dates at least one time a month 4. To go out as a family at least 4 times in the year to somewhere outside the city (even if is just to the beach……. Visiting my dad doesn’t count). 5. Play a bit more with the girls 6. To have a day out with ONE girl at least one time a month (a different girl each month, starting with Gaby, then Mia and then Mimi).
PERSONAL AND MARRIAGE RELATED 1. To let friends and family to help us out if they please, and don’t say no to every help that is offered 2. To take care more of myself, and start being Anelys and not just the girl’s mom. 3. To have one night out with hubby in the first trimester of the year, and then at least 3 more before the year ends 4. To call my dad one time a week to check on him, and to visit him at least one time a month 5. To sleep at least 6 hours at night for the first semester, and at least 8 hours at night for the second semester 6. Be more patient as a mother, as a wife and as a daughter
BUSINESS RELATED 1. Set up monthly goals for my biz 2. To get my web page running and to solve my paypal issues 3. To advertise my biz in DR and focus in the customers that I can get in this country. 4. To finish my first paid a Web Page that I already started doing 5. To set up a working schedule for my biz, and do not work overnight
ORGANIZATION 1. To start getting rid of the toys that Mimi outgrows by the time she is 12 months old and give them away 2. To make a chores schedule and stick to it
Here is a list and pictures of the most relevant things that happened each month of this year.
January * Started the year telling my whole family that I was preggo with Mimi. I cried a bunch at the party and I knew I difficult year was ahead of us. * I found a good OB to treat my case and he was very optimistic. He sent me for a bunch of tests and asked me to go every two weeks for check up. * As we were still living in Higuey and he was in Santo Domingo, I was traveling back and forth every two weeks. * We cut Gaby’s hair because she had lices. Here is a picture of her short hair (picture taken on the firefighters trip from school) * On my birthday we went to a resort just with Gaby and we had a great time. Mia was at my mom’s house.
February * The OB asked me not to whole Mia anymore. She was heavy and I was feeling a lot of pain while holding her. * Mia “moved” to my mom’s house. * We find out we were having a girl, even though they always said they were not sure. * We took Gaby for a walk in "El Malecon" at it was a great "alone time" with Gaby.
March * We moved from the apartment were we lived since we moved to this country to a three bedroom apartment. * My friend Luz put together an online Baby Shower for me, and I got tons of gifts from people that have never seen me face to face but that I consider my family. * Mia is having lots of milestones this month... Here is a video of her clapping.
April * I reached the 28 weeks milestone and got my first steroid shot for Mimi's lungs Poor Mia got Dengue Mia turned one! Mia's birthday party. We didn’t make a big party because I was really tired and exhausted, but she had a great time and she got to be with lots of people that loves her very much.
May * I reached the 32 weeks milestone!! * My OB wanted to see me every week, so I packed and “moved” to my mom’s house. Here is a picture of the last pregnancy appointment that I had in my life! My friend Luz was in the country from Arabia and she was the biggest help of all. She “won” the right of being Mimi’s godmother. After three days in the Hospital Amelia was born 6 weeks prematurely. She was 4 pounds and 7 ounces. This month was my first Mother’s Day as a mother of three, even though I couldn’t spend it with all of them together because Mimi was still in the NICU. Mia started walking!! Releasing Mimi from the hospital Mia's expression when she saw Mimi for the first time The first time together as a family of five will be a moment I will never forget.
June * Mimi's eyes check ups * We got our first complete generational picture.... My grandmother, my mom and her daughter (me) and her three granddaughters (my girls), plus my aunt, her 2 daughters and the daughters of her daughters! * Saying goodbye to Gaby at the airport * Seeing that plane taking off was one of the most painful moments in my life. * Gaby in her home town (New Jersey)
July * I hosted for a week a preemie Board on BBC because their host was having Internet problems, and I learned so much about preemies. It got me thinking in all those babies that are still having problems, and made me be grateful for how healthy my preemies are. * Mia won a huggies race * Holding my girl again after 4 weeks of not seeing her * Mia got to go to the pool again after a long time * The frist broken bone in our family in our lives * We celebrated the Dominican Father's Day with my father, his wife, my brothers, nephew, hubby and the girls
August * Hubby and I decided to move to Santo Domingo after he accepted a new job offer. * I met an online friend and her family! * I became Ariel's godmother * Gaby's first day of Pre-K
September * Gaby cracked her head open at Isabella's birthday party * I started taking my designing work more serious and started getting lots of customers. * Mia got a haircut * We went to the National Aquarium for the first time
October * We got the keys for our new house. * Gaby turned 4 years old * Mimi's godmother Luz came to visit from Arabia * My mother in law came from New Jersey to spend some time with us after a very delicate time.
November * Hubby got me a ring for our 5th anniversary * We celebrated Gaby's birthday party in our new house.... My mother in law, sister in law and her husband were here * We all got pink eye, but I got the worst one * Gaby sang and danced "Mi Burrito Sabanero" at the School Christmas Play
December * We had our first pool party at home, and it was Mimi's first time * Lost some money and gained some more. * Lost a friend but strengthen a few others friendships. * Got my domain for my business * I hosted my first Christmas Eve dinner with some extended family. * The girls got lots of presents for Christmas Day (more to come)
In overall we had a great year. Full of ups and downs, but this was the year that be completed our family, so it will be in our hearts forever.
